Lost Captain Beefheart Album Finally Gets a Release Date

Extractor chain of bats, an unreleased album of experimental rock artist Captain Beefheart (real name Don Van Vliet), will finally see the light of day January 15, 2012 - the same day the singer, who died December 17, 2010 of multiple sclerosis, would have turned 71.

Dating from 1976, chain extractor stick was pushed aside by Frank Zappa, who was producing the album, due to a financial dispute between him and the manager Herb Cohen. Lost Beefheart album was conceived as a follow-up failure Bluejeans Van Vliet 1974 and moonbeams. Some recordings of new album of original songs later appeared on later albums Beefheart Shiny Beast (1978), Doctor of Radar Station (1980) and Ice Cream for Crow (1982).

The album Bat Chain Puller original is made known through Zappa records and composed of all 12 original songs plus three bonus tracks. Denny Walley was mixed by French and John, two former students of the Magic Band Captain Beefheart, who also provide commentary in the notes.
