A fake press release reporting that the singer, 49, had died during a tour stop in New Jersey gained major buzz on the Internet late Monday, sparking confusion and concern among fans.
But don”t fret, the rocker is still kicking – and even seems to have a sense of humor about the ordeal.
Bon Jovi joked about the rumor on the band”s Twitter feed, posting a picture Monday night with the caption, “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey -jbj. Rest assured that Jon is fine! This photo was just taken.”
The heartthrob wasn”t the only musician falsely believed to have died on Monday.
In the wake of North Korean President Kim Jong-il”s – real – death Sunday, the misinformed took to Twitter en masse to report that rapper Lil” Kim had passed away.
